SUMMARY: • Install and support systems software, integrated systems software, and standard system control software, PLC’s and computing hardware at customer locations. • Configure a cell controller’s software parameters, install the network and command/control. • Configuring, install and support factory automation software. • Provide technical phone and on-site support to resolve system problems both on site and by phone under conditions where the customer may be angry, in an effective manner which improves customer relations. • Ability to understand complex automated production systems and make suggestions for changes and improvements as may be needed through field service activities, installation experiences and observations. • Perform testing and debug of new and revised versions of the software or PLC logic prior to field release. • Provide assistance to sales engineers, regional managers, and distributors in answering customer questions and providing demonstrations as directed. • Develop, document, and maintain system configurations and installation documents following the MAP procedures. • Perform system training both in the office and at the customer location as required. • Provide pre-installation customer support of future system installations. QUALIFICATIONS: • Understanding of products and services. • Strong PC software skills and PC networking skills. • Experience with HP-UX and/or Windows NT / 2000 platforms and/or PLC ladder logic. • Capable of executing tasks and projects with limited supervision. • Good phone support troubleshooting skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. • Ability to work with a variety of functions within the business, including sales, service, and engineering. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Familiarity with manufacturing automation is a plus. REQUIREMENTS: • Associate's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience is required. A 4-year degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred. • Physical demands are predominantly typing, writing, light lifting, etc. More than 40 hours per week is often required to effectively perform this job. • 70% travel with a large amount of time spent at off-site facilities with occasional international travel required. • Training will be provided: 4-6 months of in-house classroom and job shadowing to prepare for the job. SUMMARY: • Lead the team's efforts in providing technical solutions and offering guidance to project leaders and applications engineers as required on specific projects. • Managing and mentor a team of personnel responsible for turnkey execution by performing personnel evaluations, recommending salary actions and managing a cost center budget. • Providing for staffing requirements, personnel issues, technical guidance and assistance with customer negotiations as required. • Reviewing and analyzing various customers' manufacturing requirements. • Monitoring the execution of turnkey projects ranging from single, stand-alone machine turnkeys to multi-machine, multi-million-dollar turnkey systems. • Assuring compliance by the team in following the documented procedures for turnkey project execution. • Reviewing turnkey project costs and proposals for content in regard to fixture, tool and engineering. • Providing process training (including machine options, programming, cell operations) at Makino and at the customer's facility. • Supporting the marketing and sales group as required. REQUIREMENTS: • Present a professional image, be a team player and a self-starter. • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years or more related supervisory experience. • Technical knowledge and logical troubleshooting skills. • Previous experience leading a project. • Rational decision-making skills and good negotiation skills. • Excellent communication and customer relation skills. • Application and operational knowledge of CNC equipment. • Detailed knowledge of CNC part programming. • Willingness to travel, at times extensively. SUMMARY: Drive compliance engineering practices with NPD Teams and Sustaining to realize compliant products based on national and international codes & standards. This position also has the responsibility for design change surveillance and general technical file maintenance. Communicate & educate on standards to varied audiences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Define compliance strategies to certify and list products with safety agencies. • Provide technical review of product to ensure compliance with applicable codes & standards. • Resolve compliance issues by working with various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and software in applying and understanding design codes & standards. • Review user documentation to ensure compliance to codes & standards regulations. • Submit and maintain required compliance reports to safety agencies. • Maintain and sustain the product technical files for CE marking. • Review external business partner certifications, technical files and documentation. • Maintain up to date technical competencies and deliver training to the engineering teams • Review test lab records for completeness and accuracy of tests and resolve question and/or issues. REQUIREMENTS: • BS Degree in Engineering (or Technical) and/or equivalent years of experience + education (acceptable example: 2 year tech degree + 2 yrs experience). • Minimum of 2 years experience in a regulated industry, in a compliance engineering capacity. • IEC, ISO, UL, or other governing body based safety standards experience. • Must have strong persuasion and negotiation skills. • Must be proficient in normal business software programs: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of UL 60601-1, IEC 60601-1; IEC 60601-2-38; ISO 14971 (risk management & analysis) • Experience working with CBTL's and NRTL's to maintain test lab certification to ISO 17025 to medical device standards. SUMMARY: Role includes test development to verify software requirements, test execution, issue reporting, and updating design history records. Also includes analysis of software changes to determine appropriate areas for targeted testing. Project to be verified includes software written in C on 8051 controllers. Project also includes updates to existing graphical user interface written in C#. System communicates via CANOpen protocol. Role will include close interaction with development teams on troubleshooting issues, review of test cases and results. REQUIREMENTS: • Must have Test case development and Software Requirements Analysis experience. • The following systems are utilized regularly, experience with these or similar systems is beneficial: ClearCase, DOORS, Keil uVision, CANOpen Communication Protocol. • "C Programming Language knowledge. • B.S. SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to support biomedical testing within the Test Services lab. Primary responsibilities include performing biomedical tests according to established procedures under the supervision of a Biomedical Test Lead, maintaining and calibrating equipment and assistance with data-handling tasks. REQUIREMENTS: Two to five years of technical experience. Must have strong experience in Microsoft Excel. Associates degree or equivalent degree from a recognized college or university in a technology field. 6 mos. contract with option to renew in SE Indiana.
